Call to Order: 3:35 p.m.

The council discussed ways to handle business during the summer. It was decided to try to use email.

Approval of Minutes: Judy Smith made a motion to approve the minutes of the last meeting. Boyd Lanier seconded the motion, and it carried. The minutes were approved as written.

Speech and Hearing Science Degree Plan:

• The plan has all of the required hours.
• There are two hidden pre-requisites for fluency and voice.
• There is a question about lifespan development that can be fixed by removing the course.
• Boyd Lanier recommended that the plan be approved with the removal of the lifespan course. Lula Henry seconded the motion.
• Discussion focused on the missing SPHS 4330 voice and fluency disorders class. There was a question if the department had divided the class into two. SPHS 4336 and 4338 may be missing SPHS 4330 as their pre-requisite.
• Judy Smith made a motion to return the degree plan to the department for clarification. Boyd Lanier seconded the motion, and it carried.

MEEN 3320:

• We would like the dates of publication on the text book information.
• Boyd Lanier made a motion to table to course until the department addressed concerns previously identified for them. Judy Smith seconded the motion, and it passed.

BUAL 3320:

• Lula Henry made a motion to accept the course. Stefan Andrei seconded the motion, and it carried.

CPSC 4365:

• We would like the dates of publication included in the text book information.
• Zanthia Smith made a motion to accept the course with the correction. Stefan Andrei seconded the motion, and it carried.

CHEN 3311:

• CHEN 3340 is listed twice in the pre-requisites on the syllabus.
• Days are needed for the office hours.
• Dates are needed in the text publication information.
• Kami Makki made a motion to accept the course. Zanthia Smith seconded the motion, and it carried.

NURS 2373:

• The building name should be included with the office number in the instructor contact information.
• Boyd Lanier made a motion to accept the course with the change. Zanthia Smith seconded the motion, and it carried.

NURS 4391:

• The pre-requisites on the syllabus need to match those on the form.
• The contact hours on the syllabus should be 45.
• The syllabus should read “all pre-requisites C or better”.
• Include “and” between PSYC 2317 and NURS 4321 on the pre-requisite list.
• Move the grading policy to the front of the syllabus.
• Replace the DRC information with the approved boilerplate language.
• Replace Tom Matthews with Jarrod Rossi in the evaluation information.
• Change campus closure to academic continuity.
• Include the building name with the office number in the instructor contact information.
• Lula Henry made a motion to accept the course with the corrections. Zanthia Smith seconded the motion, and it carried.

NURS 3231:

• List the building name for the instructor contact information.
• Remove 3110 from the syllabus list of pre-requisites.
• Is NURS 3230 now 3330?
• Move the course description above the pre-requisite list.
• Move the text information closer to the front of the syllabus.
• Move the grading information closer to the front of the syllabus.
• Remove the third bullet point on the DRC policy.
• Change Tom Matthews to Jarrod Rossi in the evaluation information.
• Change campus closure to academic continuity.
• The second book title in the text information should be italicized.
• Boyd Lanier made a motion to approve the course with changes. Zanthia Smith seconded the motion, and it carried.

NURS 4580:

• We need clarification if the course is 80 or 154 contact hours.
• Add the building name for the instructor’s contact information.
• Move the text info, course description and grading information to the front of the syllabus.
• Use the boiler plate language for the DRC information.
• Change campus closure to academic continuity.
• Judy Smith made a motion to approve the course with changes. Kami Makki seconded the motion, and it carried.

The next meeting is scheduled for June 19 at 3:30.
