Call to Order: 3:35 p.m.

• Boyd Lanier shared the new proxy form and by-law revision with the council.
• He also said he had already consulted with the faculty members whose syllabi were used for this session’s applications so many of the problems had already been addressed.

Approval of Minutes: Eileen Curl made a motion to approve the minutes from the last meeting. The motion was seconded by Judy Smith and carried.

COMM 4376

• The pre-requisites are not on the syllabus.
• Move the penalties for academic honesty so they are with the actual policy statement.
• There is no section number on the syllabus.
• The form should read 4 SR in the classification spot.
• It could be useful to tweak the learning outcomes to reflect a higher level course.
• Judy Smith made a motion to approve the course. Paul Hemenway seconded the motion, and it carried.

HIST 4393

• The pre-requisites are not on the syllabus.
• The schedule hours and contact hours need to be changed on the form.
• It could be useful to tweak the learning outcomes to reflect a higher level in Bloom’s taxonomy.
• Lula Henry made a motion to approve the course. Eileen Curl seconded the motion, and it carried.

SPHS 4352

• The pre-requisites are not on the syllabus.
• There is no section number on the syllabus.
• The grading scale needs to be fixed to read 70-79 C.
• The contact hours should be 45.
• Remove the duplication of the office number.
• The pre-requisite grade should be checked to determine if the department really wants it to be a B.
• Nicki Michalski made a motion to approve the course with changes. Stefan Andrei seconded the motion, and it carried.

BIOL 4306

• The pre-requisite grade should be a C.
• The contact hours should be 45.
• Remove “with financial aid” from the section about dropping courses. Change the title of that section to read “6 Drop Rule”.
• Add the word Biology to the faculty member’s office number.
• Judy Smith made a motion to approve the course with changes. Lula Henry seconded the motion, and it carried.

ELEN 3312

• Through is misspelled in the Online Access section.
• Change the title of the course objectives section to student learning outcomes.
• Clarify if the course is hybrid or solely online. The references to hybrid students are confusing.
• Judy Smith made a motion to accept the course with corrections. Lula Henry seconded the motion, and it carried.

ELEN 3421

• There is a missing pre-requisite in the course description.
• There is an S on the course description that does not belong there.
• Eileen Curl made a motion to accept the course. Stefan Andrei seconded the motion, and it carried.

ELEN 3431

• There is no section number on the syllabus.
• Fix the title for the Academic Honesty Policy.
• Correct the brackets on the percentage section of the grading policy. The mathematical formula does not match the description of the process.
• Include a schedule with topics.
• Stefan Andrei made a motion to accept the course with changes. Judy Smith seconded the motion, and it carried. 

MEEN 2302

• Change the title on the course outcomes section to student learning outcomes.
• Change cheating and plagiarism to academic honesty policy.
• Add the last line of the DRC policy.
• The course description on the syllabus needs to match the description on the form.
• Change the course description title.
• The actual course description is mislabeled as course objectives.
• Change the letter grade on the bottom to 0-59 F.
• Judy Smith made a motion to accept the course with revisions. Stefan Andrei seconded the motion, and it carried.
