HONORS COUNCIL MINUTES: April 9, 2018
PRESENT: Kevin Dodson, Andrew Strange, Rebekah Maxwell, Kumer Das, Brittney Crossley, Nicki Michalski, Anna Christensen, Clare Burns, Tilisa Thibodeaux, Randy Yoder, Kathy Fraccastoro, Mike Matthis, Andrea Karlin, Larry Allen, Gina Hale, and Xenia Federchenko.
Meeting was called to order at 3:30pm by Dr. Kevin Dodson.
DEAN’S REPORT:
Dr. Dodson reported Jordan Curl has been selected as the RHC Research Fellow for Summer 2018.
The Undergraduate Research Expo will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018.
OLD BUSINESS:
January 22, 2018 minutes were reviewed and upon motion by Kathy Fraccastoro, seconded by Andrea Karlin, the minutes were approved.
Tilisa Thibodeaux reported that 97 students have submitted links for the ePortfolios. We will be hiring a Digital Learning Research assistant to help go through the ePortfolios and provide feedback to Tilisa about the students and their progress and help them if they need support.
We would like to have Summer Reading set-up by May.
NEW BUSINESS:
Council discussed First-Year Review of students.
Second Annual Honors Faculty Retreat will be held on Friday, May 11th, in the Executive Event Room.
