HONORS COUNCIL MINUTES:   March 28, 2016

PRESENT:  Kevin Dodson, Rebekah Maxwell, Kumer Das, Jeff Palis, Michael Saar, Ana Christensen, Claire Burns, Donna Wilsker, Kathy Fraccastoro, and Andrea Karlin.

Meeting was called to order at 4:00pm by Dr. Kevin Dodson.

DEAN’S REPORT:

There was no Dean’s report for this meeting.

BUSINESS:

February 29, 2016 minutes were reviewed and upon motion by Kathy Fraccastoro, seconded by Kumer Das, the minutes were approved.

We still need volunteers for the 2016 Summer Reading Club.  We have three volunteers at this time but need more.  Summer Read will count for 1 non-course credit. 

Amended guidelines for non-course credit were presented.  Upon motion by Kathy Fraccastoro, seconded by Andrea Karlin, the guidelines were approved.

We had a couple of SPD Workshops this semester and we need to start thinking about ideas for next year.  Several ideas suggested were interviewing, research skills, abstract writing, and negotiating skills.
