MInutes for CID Meeting January 27th, 2021 3:30-4:3:00pm via TEAMS

  1. Dr. Cristian Bahrim gave a presentation on the Office of Undergraduate Research. Several attachments from him are included. Please designate a liaison from your department to his office and mark upcoming events on your department calendar.
  2. Dr. Katrina Brent and Kayla Holloway introduced the CID to the new Meta Majors approach for advising in the UAC. The system is expected to be up and running by the fall. A robust discussion included a lot of suggestions from the CID members which were well received by the presenters. A copy of the presentation is attached. We asked them to come back and present again as they finalize the program.
  3. We will all miss Ken Aung and wish comfort for his family and friends.
  4. 2020/2021 CID committee liaisons may send Liv a brief update on what transpires in these committees.
  5. The following was not discussed due to time running out but is an update from the Exec. Committee:
  6. The CID Executive committee met with the President and Provost earlier this day and asked for more clarification on summer class budgets and scheduling, and will meet again with the Deans on February 10th for more input. Also discussed was the opportunity for the administration to meet with the CID prior to the SACS visit. This is scheduled for our next regular meeting on February 24th.
  7. Provost candidate interviews with the CID are scheduled for February 3rd, 10th and 17th from 3:30 to 4:45. Diane Clark will be soliciting questions from the CID members prior to the meetings so we can try to ask more consistent questions to all. Please send directly to her. She will compile/consolidate them.
