1) Robust discussion with Brenda Nichols on the College of Digital Learning and how our courses fit into it, etc. Some highlights are:
- There is a three year extension to the use of Blackboard
- Blackboard will now have course analytics, and in order to implement BLACKBOARD WILL BE UNAVAILABLE JAN 9 TO 14 2019. PLEASE BE PREPARED. Notices will be sent ahead of time. Afterwards faculty will have access for two days and then it will open up courses for students.
- Working on issues with Kaltura for Video Conferencing, mainly for off-campus or student access…
- Concourse is now for all syllabi so that they will get synchronized, vitae portion in the spring
- Smartthinking is tutoring available 24/7 for undergrads & grads. See attachment. Let faculty know!
- Online course student orientation has some unique options like Student Lingo.. where FAQs are discussed in the younger generation speak.
- It was explained that online courses go through the College of Digital Learning, but are coded with an ‘A’ before the department coding (e.g. AMATH for math) but then get allocated back to the department for various University calculation purposes.
- Dr. Nichols handed out listings of online offerings to the departments represented and explained in great detail how a new system will consolidate various types of offerings of the same class under a single CRN, but with sections for the different types of offerings… There is then a formula for course load allocation and assistants based on total enrollment with an upper limit of 110. PLEASE TALK TO HER IF YOU DID NOT ATTEND AND HAVE ONLINE OFFERINGS SO SHE CAN EXPLAIN IT TO YOU.
- We appreciated all the great information discussed!

2) The meeting ran late and we were unable to get to the roundtable or budget discussions.
