11:30 AM - 01:00 PM
Live Oak Ballroom, Setzer Student Center

LU military veterans and active duty employees, students, and alumni are invited to this year's Veteran's Day Celebration Luncheon. The event will include a 30 minute welcome reception and formally begin at noon with the Presentation of Colors, the Pledge of Allegiance, the National Anthem, and an Armed Exhibit.

Our keynote speaker, Dr. Larry Rose, is a proud alumnus of Lamar University who graduated in 1965 with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. He earned his Doctor of Dental Science degree from St. Louis University in 1969, served four years of reserve duty and two years of active duty as a Captain in the U. S. Army Dental Corps. Dr. Rose successfully maintained an orthodontic practice for 39 years. In addition to his career as a Board Certified Orthodontist and Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Texas Dental Branch, he is a former professional drag race car driver, the former ringside dentist to Muhammad Ali, and the inventor of the Rose Torquing Plier. He and his wife Helen are proud members of the President's Circle of Lamar University and have established several awards and scholarships for LU students.
