The History Department's Film Series History in Motion: Exploring the Past through Television and Film presents 12 Years a Slave. Movie synopsis: A free black man from New York, Solomon Northup was abducted and sold into slavery in Louisiana in 1841. He navigated the brutality of slavery during his heroic struggle to regain his freedom and reunite with his family.

Admission is free.
