Creating Invitations

Ask Who, What , When, Where and How

  • Who is hosting and who is being honored?  Include the words "Lamar University" somewhere in the invitation text

  • What is the event? (dinner, reception, etc.)

  • When is it? (date and time)

  • Where will it be held? Make sure to properly express the venue name.  If you are not sure, please call the venue and ask.

  • How should guests dress? (casual attire, business casual attire, business attire, formal attire or black tie)
  • Invitations should be branded with an approved Lamar University logo.
  • Include parking instructions.

  • Request a response by a specific date that is one week prior to the event.

  • Ask for any dietary restrictions or special accommodations
