Undergraduate Engineering

What We Offer

The Industrial Engineering department offers a BS in Industrial Engineering and a BS in Industrial Technology. The BSIE degree is offered on campus and online in a 2+2 format while the BSIT degree is offered 100% online. Please contact Dr. Brian Craig for questions related to BS Industrial Engineering and Gary Yentzen for questions related to BS Industrial Technology.

What is Industrial Engineering?

Industrial engineering deals not only with things but also with people, finance, information, and the environment. Industrial engineers answer complex questions:

  • How can we improve safety, quality, productivity and service?
  • What products or services should we offer? What price should we charge?
  • What materials and methods should we use?
  • How can we best motivate and reward people?
  • How much inventory do we need?
  • Where should we locate our plants, stores, and warehouse?
  • How can we use our historic data to improve our business?

What is Industrial Technology?

The Department of Industrial Engineering offers a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial Technology (IT). This curriculum is designed to prepare two-year technology graduates to work effectively in the engineer-technologist team and to assume management responsibilities. The program builds a BS degree focused on technology and management on top of an AAS degree with a technology focus. The degree teaches students how to manage and improve industrial systems.
