Lamar Proficiency Test Schedule

WEEKLY TEST SCHEDULESpring 2019

No late arrivals allowed during testing.
Plan to arrive 15 minutes before testing time.

Be sure to print and bring a completed Payment Form stamped "Paid" and a photo ID.


You will not be able to enter without a stamped paid receipt and photo ID to test.

All testing will be computer based.

* Registration is Monday-Thursday. You must sign up a week before the test.

REGISTRATION
for the Lamar Proficiency Test:

  • In person at the TExES Office, Education Building Room 201 F.
  • You can register by email at texes@lamar.edu. Please include your first & last name, phone number, date of test, test name/ number and Lamar ID #.
  • A confirmation email will be sent to students who has registered by email.  If you do not receive a confirmation, you should NOT consider yourself registered.  Call the TExES Office (409-880-7774).
  • It is your responsibility that you submit the correct test name and number when registering for the exam. Once you submit the testing information, you will need to give the TExES office a 48-hour notice to change the information if needed. We are not able to change your test information on the day of testing.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
  Students registered for a Lamar Proficiency Exam who are unable to attend at that time must cancel with a 24-hour notice.  Students who do not attend the testing for which they are registered must pay the $10.00 LAMAR PROFICIENCY TEST fee and must pay $10.00 for the next test.  If the student provides a documented family or personal emergency their $10.00 fee will carry to the next test registered.  Emergencies include but are not limited to hospitalization, illness, death in the family, verifiable official university business or jury duty summons.

Study Plan Review: 

  • The Study Plan Review will provide individualized assignments based upon each student performance on the LU proficiency test. Each assignment is designed to target the competencies and domains that need additional focus, ensuring a greater understanding of the material being tested.
  • A Study Plan Review will be computer- generated after each failed attempt of the LU proficiency exams.
  •  After the 1st failed attempt students are required to complete and pass the Study Plan Review before allowed to register and retake the exam.
  • Students will not be allowed to retake the LU proficiency exam until all individualized assignments are completed by the student and verified by the TExES office.
  • Once the student complete and pass all assignments in the Study Plan Review, they will be able to register and retake the exam.
  • The Study Plan Review must be completed in the computer lab 201G.
  • Students must register for the Study Plan Review in the TExES office 201F or by email at texes@lamar.edu

 

Please Note:  Students are required to commit a minimum of 1 hour to the Study Plan Review.
