Stacey Bumstead, Ed.D.



Dr. Stacey Bumstead received her Ed.D. in Reading from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. Dr. Bumstead’s primary teaching responsibilities include teaching undergraduate students in literacy methods courses. She has also taught graduate level courses in content area reading, cognition and instruction, diversity in learners and the learning process. In addition, she has taught doctoral courses in leadership theories. Her research interests include pre-service teachers, novice teachers, teacher preparation programs, mentoring novice teachers, high-quality reading instruction, content literacy and disciplinary literacy. 

In addition to her teaching and scholarly responsibilities, she has been a committee member of several dissertations. She has also been a board member for the Texas Association of College Teachers and been a reviewer for the Journal of Teacher Education.
