Praphul Joshi, Ph.D., MPH, BDS



Dr. Joshi was trained as a dental surgeon in India and worked in several hospitals. During his final years of training and also in residency he worked in a number of public health programs in underserved areas, which transformed his career pathway. With a passion and goal of working on public health projects to address health disparities, Dr. Joshi obtained his masters (MPH) and doctoral (PhD) degrees in public health from the Arnold School of public Health, University of South Carolina.

During the course of graduate training, Dr. Joshi worked on wide variety of projects as research assistant, research associate and as an evaluation consultant. These programs include evaluation of safe and drug-free schools in South Carolina Department of Education, evaluation of teen pregnancy prevention programs in South Carolina, childhood obesity prevention and pre-hypertension intervention programs for adolescents in minority communities.
