Sonja Hebert, M.Ed., LPC-I

Sonja Hebert serves as a clinical instructor in the Department of Counseling and coordinates the department admissions review process for all incoming clinical mental health counseling and school counseling students. She is also a licensed professional counselor intern in Texas. Ms. Hebert is involved with building professional relationships with students by providing support from the point of admission to introducing students to faculty advising. Ms. Hebert is the chair of the department’s Admissions Committee and serves as the admissions representative for the Student Development Academic Performance Committee, demonstrating a commitment to student development and success. Ms. Hebert is a graduate of the University of Houston (M.Ed. Counseling) and Xavier University of Louisiana (B.S. Psychology). Additionally, Ms. Hebert has research interests in the areas of peer mentoring, multicultural competence and solution-focused brief therapy.
