Mission

The mission of Men of Excellence is to enhance retention, matriculation, and timely graduation of underserved and underrepresented African American/Black male students at Lamar University. We achieve this mission by providing students who are enrolled in the program with holistic mentoring; high-quality college success learning support; and leadership development skills. In addition, we also provide our Men of Excellence opportunities for professional development, career exploration, internship, integrated cultural enrichment, health and wellness, diversity and global awareness, financial literacy, and goal development.

Vision

To provide Men of Excellence with comprehensive, high quality, and academically centered support services with simultaneously developing and promoting professionalism, leadership, service, and academic excellence.
