University Multicultural Enhancement Committee


The Multicultural Enhancement Committee shall advise the President on matters pertaining to institutional enhancement strategies and initiatives that promote diversity and cultural inclusion.  Specifically, the committee shall be responsible for the oversight and review of diversity initiatives which foster the building of a more inclusive community grounded in respect for the differences found among those within the Lamar University community and the community it serves.


The committee shall include members elected from constituency groups, the chairs of the college multicultural diversity committees, and appointments by the President.  The chair of the committee shall be elected from and by committee members.  The Provost, Human Resources Vice President, and the President’s Special Assistant for University Multicultural Enhancement shall serve as ex officio members.
