Community events play an important role. The Greater South Park Neighborhood Partnership hosts external constituents on campus through committee meetings, programs and services, while also supporting external Lamar University events that engage the community, community partners, students and alumni.

MLK Community Outreach
More than 500 attend this annual, free event that provided free parking, seating, food and drinks, parade and giveaways.
Beaumont Police Department Community Forum
At the forum free snacks and door prizes are given.
Serve-24 Do Something Movement
This annual event was established to encourage 24-hours of random acts of kindness throughout the Golden Triangle.
Pietzsch MacArthur Starr Testing Parent Orientation
Attending parents are given meals, drinks and door prizes.
Pietzsch MacArthur End of Year Fun Day
During this day of fun activities, more than 900 students get free food and drinks.
Daughters of Hope Mentorship Program
Through this program girls, ages 8-15, are mentored.
Summer Sports Camp & VBS
More than a 120 campers participate in this annual camp that includes chartering a to Pirates Bay Water Park in Baytown.
Back-to-School Drive
The annual event includes free school supplies, backpacks and hair cuts and styles.
Adopt-A-School Outreaches
Throughout the year events, parties and programs are hosted for Pietzsch MacArthur Elementary School and for South Park Middle School.
Adopt-A-Block Community Clean-Up
This monthly event encourages community participation to clean the neighborhood.
Community Food Distribution
In collaboration with the South East Texas Food Bank, every month food is distributed to residents of the neighborhood.
Drive-Thru Community Coffee Shop
Every week residents of the neighborhood are invited to drive through for a free coffee, orange juice, donuts, honey buns and motivational quote.
Community Fall-Fest
This annual fun family event includes games, prizes and lots of free food. More than 400 people from the neighborhood typically attend.
Thanksgiving Giveaway
Every Thanksgiving between 75-100 smoked turkeys and Thanksgiving side dishes are donated to the elderly in the South Park neighborhood.
Serving Our Seniors
Every month, seniors who are 60 years old and older receive free catered meals, games, fellowship and prizes.
Angel Tree Toy Drive
Each Christmas a toy drive is held to provide gifts to grandparents who are raising their grandchildren.
Day in the Park
This annual day of fun gets everyone in the greater South Park Neighborhood out to enjoy the neighborhood and meet one another.
