IGNITE! 2018

All Expense Paid Entrepreneurship Trek

Experience Silicon Valley with other graduate students from Rice University, Texas Medical Center, and UC-Davis.  Lamar University’s Center for Innovation, Commercialization and Entrepreneurship (CICE) and the Gill Foundation are sending ten Lamar University graduate students to participate in Ignite!, a 3-day intensive entrepreneurial experience in Silicon Valley.  Travel with colleagues in Science, Engineering, and Business to iconic high-tech companies, VC firms, and incubators, and get to know highly successful innovators as they discuss their entrepreneurial journey in an intimate setting.

Day 1:  Travel & Opening reception
Day 2:  Field trips to Start-ups/
              High-tech companies/VC firms
Day 3-4:  Entrepreneurial Guest Speakers
Day 5:  Return Travel

Deadline to apply is Feb. 5, 2018

Applications accepted Oct. 23 – Feb 5, 2018:

  • Completed application form
  • Brief essay (300 words or less) to explain how this will impact your collegiate experience
  • Resume’ (including GPA)

Departments will select 5 – 7 applications for the judging committee (Dr. Jack Gill and Paul
Latiolais).  Finalists will be notified by February 12, 2018.
