Master of Business Administration (With ERP Concentration)/Master of Science in Management Information Systems (48 Hours)

The following are requirements for applying to the M.B.A./M.S. in MIS Dual Degree Program at Lamar University:

  1. Meet the prerequisites for application to both the M.B.A. program and the M.S. in MIS program individually, including completion of GMAT or GRE, or approval of a GMAT/GRE waiver. 
  2. You need to apply to and be accepted by both major departments. You can apply and be admitted to either degree and then request to be added to the second degree provided you meet all admission requirements for the second degree.
  3. Meet the graduation requirement of each program individually, including minimum grade point average and time limit policies. 

ADMISSIONS UPDATE DUE TO COVID-19

  • GRE/GMAT is temporarily waived (until further notice) for M.B.A. and M.S.-MIS applicants with at least a 2.5 GPA
  • Separate application for GRE/GMAT waiver is not necessary
  • GRE/GMAT testing options are available remotely
  • Automatic admission for applicants with a GPA of 2.5 or higher from their last 60 hours of undergraduate or combined undergraduate/graduate coursework

Remember that:

  1. The requirements for earning the M.B.A. degree and the policies of the program (schedule adjustment, time limit for degree completion of both major degree plans occur simultaneously.
  2. It is not required that completion of both major degree plans occur simultaneously. 
  3. GPAs in both programs are computed separately. You will be enrolled as a student in the dual degree program as long as you meet minimum standards for continuation in each program. In the rare case that you are dismissed or withdraw from one program, you may continue and complete the other program as long as you meet the minimum standards in that program. However, you would need to fulfill all requirements for regularly admitted students in the remaining program.
