A Message from the Dean

Date: 03/27/20

LU College of Business students:

As we encounter these changing times, I want you to know that we in the College of Business place the highest priority on health and safety. The cancellation and/or postponement of campus activities and meetings presents challenges to everyone.

Our other high priority is moving forward with the education of you, our Lamar students. This means accessing alternative distance education modalities to minimize the health risks present in the current environment. We in the College of Business have a devoted staff, and our faculty are dedicated to continuing to provide a first-class higher education regardless of how they deliver your class. The fact that LU Business has been a leader in online business education over recent years means that the transition on our on-campus classes to distance delivery methods is proceeding with fewer issues than many other universities are experiencing.

My role as dean of the college is to oversee these efforts, but it is really the individual faculty members, staff, and students who make Lamar University a success. As we rise to this challenge, please take care of yourselves and those close to you.

As we move forward, we will continue to adapt to the situation to make any adjustments that might become necessary for summer classes and beyond. We are committed to offering our full schedule of classes so that you can continue to progress towards your degree.

Please see the full campus announcement from President Evans. Should you have any issues please contact any of our faculty, staff or me.
