Dorm-Friendly Recipes to Bring Home on Thanksgiving

No oven, no freezer, no problem. Don't show up to Thanksgiving empty-handed...these three recipes can be made right in your dorm.


 

S'more Cheese Ball

S'more Cheese Ball

 

Ingredients

16 ounces cream cheese, softened
½ cup powdered sugar
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 cup mini chocolate chips

Outer Coating

½ cup graham cracker crumbs
¼ mini chocolate chips
¼ cup marshmallow bits

Instructions

1) Combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, mini marshmallows, and all but 1/4 cup of mini chocolate chips.

2) Form soft ball and place in refrigerator for 30 minutes.

3) Mix graham crackers, remaining chocolate chips and marshmallow bits on a large plate.

4) Once firm, roll cheese ball in graham cracker mixture.

5) Chill for at least ½ hour and serve with graham crackers.


 

Seven Layer Dip

Seven Layer Dip

 

Ingredients

1 can refried beans
2 cups guacamole
16 ounces sour cream
1 jar salsa
shredded cheese
½ cup olives
2 small tomatoes

Instructions

1) In a medium bowl, microwave refried beans for 1 minute and 30 seconds.

2) In a 9-inch pie dish, layer ingredients, beginning with refried beans.

3) Refrigerate or serve immediately. 


 

Turtle Pretzels

Ingredients

mini pretzel twists
Rolo candies
pecan halves

Instructions

1) On parchment paper, separate pretzel twists.

2) Place one Rolo on each pretzel. Microwave for 25 seconds.

3) Press pecan halves, flat side down, over softened Rolo.

4) Let sit until chocolate is firm.
