Sociology, Bachelor of Science (BS)

The degree of Bachelor of Science in Sociology will be awarded upon completion of the following requirements:

  1. General core requirement: 42 hrs (include SOCI 1301)
  2. Sociology major core (36 hrs):
  3. Sociology Concentration: 12 hrs from one of the following four concentrations
    1. Race, Class, & Gender: 3306, 3310, 3315, 3340, 3355, 3365
    2. Global Health Population: 3311, 4310, 4315, 4325, 4335
    3. Crime & Deviance: 3326, 3375, 3380, 3390, 4345
    4. Social Organization and Change: 2301, 4320, 4330, 4340, 4350, 4365
  4. Department requirement (15 hrs):
    1. SOCI 4380, Research Methods
    2. SOCI 4385, Data Analysis
    3. SOCI 4390, Social Theory
    4. 6 hrs from ANTH, CRIJ, or SOWK courses
  5. Minor (18 hrs): 9 hrs at 3000-4000 level
