Jefferson Lab

Jefferson Lab, known officially as the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, is one of 17 US National Laboratories maintained by the US Department of Energy. The CLAS Experiment is located in Experimental Hall B. CLAS is an acronym for CEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer. CEBAF is the acronym for Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility known for a "world-class" facility devoted to the experimentation and study of hadronic matter. The facility is used by scientists around the world to probe deeply into the interior of the atomic nucleus for the purpose of studying its properties.

Lamar University became a member of the CLAS Collaboration in July 2018, marking the first university in Texas to join CLAS.
