Amy C. Smith was born in northern England and raised in Liberia,Tanzania and upstate New York. After attending Smith College and SUNY Binghamton, she taught at Ithaca College, SUNY Cortland and The Watson School of Engineering (SUNY Binghamton), before becoming Assistant Professor of English at Lamar University in 2009. Here, she enjoys gardening (year-round!), baking sourdough bread, reading and spending time with friends and family.

Courses Taught

Online and in-person, undergraduate and graduate courses in English, including British Literature, World literature, Composition and Rhetoric, with a special focus on mythology and modern literature. Dr. Smith also teaches Ethics, occasionally Philosophy courses, as well as courses for the Reaud Honors College.
