How to register with ARC

Lamar University and the Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) are committed to equitable learning opportunities for students with disabilities through the appropriate use of accommodations and modifications to ensure access to courses, services, activities, and facilities.

Students seeking disability-related accommodations should complete an online application with the ARC and submit documentation establishing a disability.  Once the application and documentation are received, the student will be scheduled for an intake appointment with the ARC where eligibility and individualized reasonable accommodations will be discussed.  Students may apply to the ARC at any time but early registration is encouraged.  Once accommodations are assigned to the student, they may select their accommodations for each registered course.  Accommodations are never retroactive.

ARC student registration process:

  • Complete a New Student Application.  Caution: The application software may time out after 10 minutes so be brief with responses.  More information can be discussed at the intake appointment.
  • Provide documentation to establish the presence of a disability.  Defined as a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities. See: Documentation Guidelines
  • Schedule and complete an intake appointment with a director of the Accessibility Resource Center.  Appointments are available by phone, in-person, or remotely via TEAMS.  It may take up to 10 business days for an intake meeting to be scheduled after submission of the application and documentation.  Please contact the ARC at if you have not been contacted for an intake meeting in this timeframe.
  • Monitor Lamar University e-mail for communication during the registration process and next steps once the intake is complete.
