During your Pre-Physican Assistant Degree Plan studies at Lamar University, you will work with an advisor who will guide you in tailoring your bachelor's degree for PA program application and admission. You will prepare to submit your curriculum, admission exam scores, and supporting application materials within the deadlines of those programs to which you apply.

Physician assistants work in all areas of medicine. Your work will depend in large part on your specialty or the type of medical practice where you work. In some areas, especially rural and medically underserved communities, physician assistants may be the primary care providers at clinics where a physician is present only 1 or 2 days per week. In these locations, you will collaborate with the physician as needed and as required by law. Employment of physician assistants is projected to grow 30% over the next ten years, much faster than the average for all occupations.
