Title: "Nickel-Catalyzed Suzuki Cross-Coupling Reactions of Aryl Mesylates with Arylboronic Acids"
Nickel-based catalysts have attracted considerate attention for Suzuki cross-coupling reactions because they are more economical and environmentally friendly than precious metalbased catalysts. Herein, I propose to investigate the nickel-catalyzed Suzuki cross-coupling reactions of aryl mesylates with arylboronic acids. The catalytic reaction conditions (base, solvent, catalyst loading, and temperature) will be optimized to achieve the highest yield. The scope of aryl mesylates and arylboronic acids will be determined under the optimal reaction conditions. The new catalysts can be applied on the synthesis of biologically active molecules containing biaryls.
