Lamar University’s College of Business will host Richard Villasana as ExxonMobil Speaker Feb. 12.
Villasana will present a talk on “better business and greater profits through better international relations” at 11 a.m. in Landes Auditorium in the Galloway Business Building. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Villasana is a leading authority on Mexican business practices, culture and communication. For nearly 15 years, Villasana has helped U.S. companies and businesses around the world accelerate their entry into Mexico’s trillion-dollar economy, expand their markets and dramatically increase profits.
Villasana started working at age 14 in the family Mexican restaurant in Houston. He spent several years studying in France, Mexico and Spain and lived in Mexico for nearly a decade. He recognized the powerful influence that language and cultural understanding have on people abroad, an influence particularly evident when focused on business endeavors. Companies such as Cisco Systems, Drager and AT&T have sought Villasana’s services.
Immersed in the Mexican business world and culture, Villasana is an authority on Mexico’s safety certification, the NOM, as well as its telecommunication certification, the Homologación. He is also an expert on federal bids and tenders.
