On behalf of the entire Lamar University community, we would like to congratulate you on your decision to attend LU!
Upon your acceptance to Lamar University you will be receiving a New Student Orientation brochure. This brochure contains information regarding our various orientation programs as well as the registration card. Brochures will also be available in the Wimberly Building on the Lamar University campus. Additionally you can request a brochure by contacting the Office of Student Affairs at 409-880-1734 or 409-880-8085. Registration forms are also available on the homepage of the Lamar University website.
All registration forms and payments must be received 1 week prior to the desired orientation session. Additionally, all reservations are accepted on a first come, first-served basis, and spaces are limited. After we receive your registration form and payment, we will send a confirmation letter guaranteeing your space. Please do not make plans to attend an orientation until you have received a confirmation letter.
All Orientation fees are non-refundable unless your orientation is cancelled ten days prior to your scheduled New Student Orientation date. You may request a refund by calling the Office of Student Affairs at 409-880-8085.
Things to Bring to Your New Student Orientation Session:
1. Driver’s license or official government-issued ID.
2. Proof of your THEA, COMPASS, ASSET or ACCUPLACER scores
(If LU does not have them) Call 409/880-8888 or 409/880-8954 if you have questions.
3. Comfortable clothes for orientation sessions.
4. Umbrella
5. Watch
6. Light jacket (for indoors)
7. Comfortable shoes to walk through campus
8. Questions
**Students attending Cardinal Camp will also need to bring:
1. Linens (Twin size sheets)
2. Pillow
3. Towel & Toiletries
4. Alarm clock
5. Snacks
6. Athletic clothes for evening activities (Tennis shoe are required).
