Online Master’s ranks 11th in Top Criminal Justice Schools list

Lamar University was recently ranked 11th out of 50 in Top Criminal Justice Schools’ list of the best online Master’s in Criminal Justice degree programs in the nation.

According to Top Criminal Justice Schools, the ranking sought out regionally accredited institutions with programs directly related to criminal justice by consulting the National Center for Education Statistics College Navigator database.

The top 50 programs were selected from an initial list of 145 online criminal justice programs in the NCES College Navigator on the criteria that their programs were directly linked to criminal justice and could be considered truly “online” (with minimal to no campus presence required of students).

According to the TCJS site, schools included in the list feature doctoral level faculty, coursework that corresponds with the latest trends and areas in criminal justice, the ability to transfer in credits from other approved institutions, and selective admission. The resultant ranking lists schools by order of the average cost of graduate tuition indicated by College Navigator due to program diversity and the unique attributes of each program.

The average graduate tuition per year of Lamar’s program was $5,940.

Top Criminal Justice Schools’ mission is to share expert knowledge on the highest quality criminal justice degree programs offered at the nation’s top schools to ensure students receive the training needed to open professional job opportunities within the increasingly competitive criminal justice field.
