Museum offers 'Spindletop Spookfest'

If there’s something strange in Gladys City, then it is probably time for another Spookfest at Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum! The 2016 Spindletop Spookfest will be held Thursday, October 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with trick or treating through the boomtown buildings and fun activities for “ghouls” and “goblins” of all ages.

“Last year we had about 500 people and it was great seeing everyone wearing their costumes and enjoying themselves,” said museum director Troy Gray. “We expect this year to be no different.”

Do crafts, play some ghostly games, go trick-or-treating! Gladys City will be a great, safe place to bring the kids and celebrate Halloween. The Greek community at Lamar University as a whole will be working to support this event by handing out candy and leading the games and crafts.

Spindletop Spookfest is free and open to the public. Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown is located on Hwy. 69 at Jimmy Simmons Blvd. in Beaumont. Plenty of free parking is available. For more information, please call (409) 880-1750 or contact the museum at gladyscityinfo@gmail.com.
