Bayoulands Photographs and Art Faculty Reception at the Dishman

Bayou Obscured by Jason Miller

The Dishman Art Museum on the campus of Lamar University will host an opening reception on Friday, Aug. 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., for two exhibitions: the Art Faculty Show; and Bayoulands: Photographs by Jason Miller.

The annual Art Faculty Show highlights paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, sculptures, ceramics and graphic designs created by members of the art department faculty. The show will be on display through Sept. 16, 2016.

Bayoulands is a visual companion to KVLU’s year-long documentary series of the same name, which explores the people and places of Orange County, Texas. The exhibition of photographs by Jason Miller will be on view in the second floor gallery through Sept. 9. Photo finishing for the show is provided by InFocus Camera and Imaging in Orange. The Bayoulands exhibition is sponsored in part by Melanie Dishman with Remax/One in Beaumont, Wilma Horner with Remax/One in Orange County, and Bill Nickum with State Farm in Bridge City.

The Dishman Art Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Admission and parking are free. For more information, call (409) 880-8959 or visit lamar.edu/dishman.
