Alumni Affairs announces new advisory board

The Lamar University Alumni Advisory Board has elected Ransom Jones ’88 of Beaumont to serve as 2016-2017 president. Carol Patteson Hebert ’89, ’90 of Nederland is past president and Tony Landry ’94 of Nederland will serve as president-elect.

New members of the board are Mellie Proctor Bevilacqua ’06, John Ceravolo ’98, Alan Hefty ’69, Jennifer Turner Nichols ’03, Srinivas Palanki, and Ashley Pippins ’15, all of Beaumont; Fred Vernon ’12, ’13 of Houston; Jeremy Roebuck ’96 of Lumberton; Stephen Lee ’89 of Orange; and Chris Bates ’08 of Port Arthur; Gary Hidalgo ’71, ’73 of Sour Lake; and Surya Gade ’01, ’04 of Sugar Land.

Returning board members include Brad Brown ’81, Debi Derrick ’81, Mike Eaves ’89, Joel Foxworth ’01, ’03, Catherine Strait Gilby ’03, Tim Gregory ’89, Lloyd Hebert ’77, Ronald Jackson ’95, Ransom Jones ’88, Caitlin Kruger ’09, Amy Lovoi ’13, ’15, Rebekah Maxwell ’11, Diana Miles ’09, Cindy Dinkins Partin ’97, ’99, Ellen Walker Rienstra ’62, ’80, Jeff Wheeler ’10 and Brandi Spoonemore Wulf ’97, ’13 all of Beaumont. 

Other returning board members are Joseph Jeter ’03 of Baytown; Rachel Gilford ’03, ’10 of Bulverde; Brian Roberson ’09, ’10 of Houston; Lauren Gunter Brooks ’85 and Kristin Mattingly ’05 of Lumberton; Carol Patteson Hebert ’89, ’90 and Tony Landry ’94 of Nederland; and Phillip Dillow ’08, ’11 of Port Arthur.

Alumni Advisory Board members serve three-year terms and support the Lamar University Office of Alumni Affairs by serving as ambassadors, advisors, and advocates, and helping to develop and strengthen lifelong relationships between alumni and the university community.
