College of Business tapped by Princeton Review's 2016 Best B-schools
Lamar University has been recognized by Princeton Review’s “Best 295 Business Schools: 2016 Edition” for its exceptional MBA and leadership programs in the College of Business. Of the 295 business schools recognized, 280 are in the U.S. and 15 are international.
“We are among the top 295 business schools in the world,” said Jeff Dyson, MBA director. “Management knowledge, organizational perspective, and analytical skill and ability are all important things we focus on for the students in our business school. Our mission is to make students who attend Lamar’s MBA program relevant and competitive not only in business, but in life.”
The review noted that the “College of Business at Lamar University offers affordable, respected MBA and leadership programs and a flexibility of scheduling (including a full-time evening program and online course options) that makes this a go-to for regional professionals looking for an advanced business degree.”
While listing the MBA program’s solid preparation in general management, teamwork, and presentation skills it also highlighted the “emphasis on ethics and social responsibility as core element in the business environment” and the quality of its curriculum for student success. Survey respondents praised the propensity of the administrators, professors and staff to “go out of their way to accommodate the students.”
Princeton Review, a leading tutoring, test prep and college admission services company, selects business schools based on institutional data collected and their academic programs.

The Princeton Review tallied its lists based on its surveys of 22,000 students attending business schools. The 80-question survey asked students to rate their schools on several topics and report on their experiences at them. Some ranking list tallies also factored in school-reported data.
The survey asked students at the 295 b-schools about their school's academics, student body, and campus life as well as about themselves and their career plans. The student surveys that were used for this edition were completed online in the 2014-15, 2013-14, and 2012-13 academic years.

On average, 74 students at each b-school were surveyed for the lists in the books' 2016 editions. All institutional data reported in these editions was collected in 2014-15. The books' school profiles include admission, academics, financial aid, campus life, and career / employment information.
