MBA, MSA program announces May 13 Open House

Prospective students from all undergraduate majors can learn more about the advantages of pursuing a Master of Science in Accounting or a Master of Business Administration degree at Lamar University at an Open House May 13.

The Open House is scheduled for 5:30 - 7 p.m. at Edgar, Kiker & Cross, PC, CPAs, 3440 Eastex Freeway in Beaumont.

The MSA and MBA programs at LU offers flexible options for students interested in earning a graduate degree in business.

Lamar’s MSA program satisfies all educational requirements adopted by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy to sit for the CPA exam in Texas.

It has been shown that students who get a graduate education has a substantially higher rate of success on the Uniform CPA Examination.

An undergraduate degree in business or accounting is not necessary. The MSA program may be completed in as few as 30 credit hours. Lamar’s MSA program is designed for individuals aspiring to successful careers in public accounting, industry, government and not-for-profit organizations.

Lamar’s MBA program allows students with an undergraduate degree in business to complete their MBA in as few as 16 months. Those with a different undergraduate major can earn an MBA in as little as two years.

Students in the MBA program can focus their studies on specific areas of concentration, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), health care administration, accounting, finance, service marketing and management, leadership and entrepreneurship.

Lamar’s MBA program offers two certificate programs in online ERP or Leadership for students holding a bachelor’s degree who are interested in taking these courses, but not enrolling in the MBA program.
