2014 Summer Camps
Lamar University invites students of all ages to a variety of summer camps to be held on campus this summer. Camps are offered for a variety of ages and interests with both daily and residential opportunities.
Football - June 9-11, youth camp for students entering grades 1-8; June 12, high school offensive and defensive line camp for students entering grades 9-12; June 13, high school skills camp for students entering grades 9-12; July 19, junior and senior high school camp for students entering grades 11-12. Baseball - June 16-20 for ages 6-12; June 23-25 for ages 6-18. Session one and two will consist of half-day and full-day camps. Contact (409) 880-8135 or (409) 880-8974.
Volleyball - June 10-12 for students completing grades 3-6; June 16-19, July 7-10 and July 28-31 for students completing grades 7-9; July 14-16 for students completing grades 9-11; June 12, 19 & 26 and July 8, 15 & 22 for students completing grades 6-12. A setting and attacking clinic and a serving and defense clinic will be held July 16-17. Varsity team camp will be held July 12 and July 19. Aquatics - Children ages one year and older can register for swimming lessons in person May 20-22. Group sessions last eight days and are 45 minutes long. Individual sessions for children ages five years and older last four days and are 30 minutes long. All sessions will be held at the Lamar Health and Human Performance Complex indoor pool. The ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp is a residential camp for students currently in grades 5-7 who have at least a B-average in science and mathematics and a passing score on the state’s standardized science and mathematics tests. Immediate family members of university staff, camp staff and ExxonMobil employees are not eligible to apply. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance to the camp.
