Fraternities and sororities celebrate Greek Week
Like a big family reunion, Lamar University fraternities and sororities will come together for a week of fun-filled events. Greek Week, held April 21 - 26, strives to create programs and events that celebrate the values of Greek Life and above all, promote a fun environment, highlighting the talents and achievements of these vibrant organizations. Greek Council, which is comprised of 20 Greek organizations, will host two events that will be open for the general campus population to participate.
On Monday, April 21, members will kick off Greek Week with a Torch Run and cake cutting in the quadrangle from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Tuesday, April 22, the Greeks will compete against members of the LU faculty and staff on the basketball court at the McDonald Gym. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. The game will feature an entertaining half-time show, and students will enjoy watching their friends, faculty and staff battle it out for a win.
