KVLU Public Radio adds NPR Midday News Program
Lamar University public radio station and National Public Radio affiliate KVLU (91.3 FM) has announced the addition of “Here and Now,” an award-winning news program that will air live from 12 - 1 p.m. each weekday.
“We want our listeners to have up-to-the minute news, and this NPR program provides a fresh take on the events of the day,” said Byron Balentine, KVLU station manager.
“Here and Now” host Robin Young is an Emmy and Peabody award winner with more than 25 years of broadcast experience. Co-host Jeremy Hobson has been a reporter and producer for other NPR news programs, including the popular “All Things Considered.”
“NPR is well known for its news magazine style that allows for more in-depth reporting of topics that are trending,” said Balentine. “As news breaks, ‘Here and Now’ will be able to provide current information in a timely fashion.”
KVLU, the public radio voice for Southeast Texas, is licensed to Lamar University, with studios on the campus. For more information on KVLU programs, please visit www.kvlu.org.
