Summer camp offerings
Lamar University invites students of all ages to a variety of summer camps to be held on campus this summer. Camps are offered for a variety of ages and interests with both daily and residential opportunities.
Lamar Soccer Camps - Soccer camps under the direction of Orlando Cervantes will be at the Lamar Soccer Complex on July 8-12 and July 22-26 for boys and girls ages 4-16. Visit http://www.lamarcardinals.com/camps/w-soccer-camp.html to register online.
Lamar Softball Camps - One-day softball camps under the guidance of Lamar coach Holly Bruder for players ages 6-12 are set for June 19 and June 25. Lamar Tennis Camps – There will be five sessions. Each session will be held Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. until noon. The session dates are June 10-13, 17-20 and 24-27. In July, sessions will be held July 22-25 and July 29-Aug. 1. To register online, visit http://www.lamartenniscamps.com.
Lamar Football Camp – Football camps are scheduled for June 10-12 for students entering grades 1-8, June 13-14 for a skills camp for high school players and July 20 for the junior/senior high school camp. Lamar Volleyball Summer Camps and Clinics – June 11-13 for students completing grades 4-6; June 17-20, July 8-11, and July 29-Aug. 1 for students completing grades 7-9; July 19-21 for students completing grades 9-11. July 19-21, varsity camp, for students completing grades 9-11. A setter and outside hitter clinic will be held July 26 for students completing grades 9-11. A setter, libero, and middle hitter clinic will be held July 27 for students completing grades 9-11. Lamar University Swim Program – session dates are June 10-20, June 24-27, July 8-18, July 22 – Aug 1, Aug 5-15. gO With Engineering, Science and Technology Academy (gO WEST) – Dates: July 7-12. The gO With Engineering, Science and Technology Academy is a one-week residential camp for incoming ninth-grade students who are United States citizens and at least 14 years old at the time of the camp, which focuses on engineering careers. Applicants must have a “B” average in Math and Science and a recommendation from those teachers. Deadline date for receiving applications is May 10, 2013.
