Spring Open House on Feb. 23 offers glimpse of college life
High school students and college transfers can learn about the opportunities that await them at Lamar University during Spring Open House on Saturday, Feb. 23.
Spring Open House allows prospective students and their families to gather information about all aspects of college life, from academics to clubs and organizations.
The day will begin with check-in at 8:30 a.m. in the Montagne Center, followed by a welcome at 9 a.m. from Lamar University President James Simmons. Later that morning, future students can meet with deans and professors to learn more about academic programs and attend sessions on financial aid. Future students will be able to mix and mingle with current Lamar University students and learn about campus life at a student organization fair.
After enjoying lunch on their own in the dining hall, guests can tour campus, including highlights like the Cardinal Village residence halls and the Sheila Umphrey Recreational Sports Center.
Those who have already decided to make Lamar University their college home will be able to fill out applications for admission and for financial aid in the Cardinal Express mobile recruiting center. At admissions sessions, future students can learn more about the application process and what to do after being accepted to Lamar University.
On-site registration for New Student Orientation will be available for students who have already been accepted to Lamar University.
