Lamar University summer camps available
Lamar University invites students of all ages to a variety of summer camps to be held on campus this summer. Camps are offered for a variety of ages and interests with both daily and residential opportunities.
Lamar Football Camp – June 4-6, youth camp for students entering grades 1-8; June 7, high school offensive and defensive line camp for students entering grades 9 -12; June 8, high schools skills camp for students entering grades 9-12; July 21, junior and senior high school camp for students entering grades 11-12. Jim Gilligan Baseball Camp – June 11-15 and June 18-22 for ages 6-12; June 25-28 for ages 6-18. Session 1 and 2 will consist of half-day and full-day camps. Lamar University Soccer Camp – July 9-12 for boys and girls ages 5-15, soccer skills camp for half and full day; July 23-25 overnight college preparation camp for students entering the ninth – 12th grades. Lamar Volleyball Summer Camps and Clinics – June 5-7 for students completing grades 4-6; June 11-14, July 10-13, and July 30-Aug. 2 for students completing grades 7-10; July 20-22 for students completing grades 9-11. A setter and outside hitter clinic will be held July 16 for students completing grades 9-11. A setter, libero, and middle hitter clinic will be held July 17 for students completed grades 9-11. Lamar University Swim Program – session dates are June 4-14, June 18-28, July 9-19, July 23 – Aug 2. Pre-registration is required and will be held May 21 through May 24 from 4 pm to 7 pm in the Sheila Umphrey Recreational Sports Center. Lamar Achievement in Mathematics Program Camp (LAMP) – June 18-29. This is a free residential camp for students entering grades 10-11 who show an interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Applications are due May 23. gO With Engineering, Science, and Technology Academy (gO WEST) – Dates: July 8-13. The gO With Engineering, Science, and Technology Academy is a one-week residential camp and is for incoming ninth-grade students who are United States citizens and at least 14 years old at the time of the camp, which focuses on engineering careers. gOlden Opportunities for Southeast Texas Construction Career Academy (gO SETX) – July 22-27. The gOlden Opportunities for Southeast Texas Construction Career Academy is a one week residential camp for incoming ninth-grade students who are United States citizens and at least 14 years old at the time of the camp, which focuses on careers in construction.
