Gladys City Celebrates Youth Art Month
“Art is so important to children’s development,” said Judy Garcia, the museum’s new special events assistant. “We wanted to create a space, even for a few hours, where children can be creative – just like any successful wildcatter.”
In addition to the mural project, children and their families will have the opportunity to make chalk drawings along the visitors center sidewalk, help design a mobile, and create their own paper bag puppet. Plus, the replica Lucas Gusher will blow at 4 p.m.
From 1 to 4 p.m., on Saturday, adults receive free admission to Gladys City with paid children’s admission of two dollars. Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown is located on Hwy. 69 at University Drive in Beaumont. Plenty of free parking is available. For more information, please call (409) 880-1750 or contact the museum at info@gladyscity.org.
