Gladys City kicks off holidays with music and cards

Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown, on the Lamar University campus, will offer its third Gladys City Nights evening on Thursday, November 17, from 6-9 p.m. in the museum’s Log Cabin Saloon.

“We had such a great time in October that we decided to try an open mic night, this month,” said museum director Mark Osborne. “We invite area musicians to come play a set of their best songs.”

Musicians interested in playing can sign up at the door the night of the event for a three-song set, and must provide their own amplifier, if needed. While listening to the music and enjoying a beverage of choice, visitors will be invited to help decorate holiday cards to be distributed to area nursing homes.

Admission is free and open to the public. Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown is located on Hwy. 69 at University Drive in Beaumont. Plenty of free parking is available. For more information, please call (409) 835-0823 or contact the museum at info@gladyscity.org.
