About

Mission Statement

Welcome to Lamar University and the Disability Resource Center (DRC).  Lamar has a long history of valuing diversity in its student body and offering innovative core academic opportunities for all students.  The Disability Resource Center is the university designated office that determines and facilitates reasonable accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.  The DRC serves as a disability resource for students and the University community to bring educational awareness to disability issues in hopes of creating positive experiences for anyone wanting to attend Lamar. Our office recognizes that students with disabilities face additional challenges in transitioning to the University.  The DRC offers a host of accommodations, academic adjustments and assistive technology to help students gain access to information in a way that is meaningful and unique to each person.

What sets Lamar apart from other institutions?

Lamar works to emphasize hands on learning at all levels and provides the student body with small class sizes and a low student-to-faculty ratio which allow students to build meaningful relationships with expert faculty who truly care about their success. Be a Cardinal Today!
