Orientation

Orientation is designed to assist in making a smooth transition into college. It is an introductory package of information, advisement, helpful hints, services, and assistance to help make the first year at Lamar a successful, comfortable. Peer Advisors, the men and women in red who are ambassadors of experience, assistance, and goodwill, offer firsthand knowledge . Cardinal Round-Up showcases more than 40 organizations and performing groups to introduce campus life at Lamar. Orientation also offers an opportunity to register for fall classes. The faculty, administration, and student body look forward to meeting new students at helping them get a "head start" with their college career.

Springfest

Bring your family and be a guest at Lamar's annual Open-House.  Discover the wealth of opportunities that await you at this fun-filled information-packed day.  Springfest enables visitors to explore Lamar's quality academic and technical programs, and meet faculty, staff and student body representatives.  You can learn about academic and leadership scholarships and investigate exciting careers in your chosen field of study.   You can obtain information about admissions, financial aid and the THEA as well as tour the campus and the new residence halls.  You can also find information on Freshman Orientation and leadership programs.

Springfest is not only informative, but it is a celebration that includes entertainment, music and activivities for children.  The enthusiasm and excitement of Springfest is all provided, compliments of Lamar faculty, staff and student body.  For information about this exciting event, call (409) 880-8316.


Job Fairs

The annual Career Fair attracts a large number of potential employers to campus. During this event, you can present your resume to employer representatives, ask the questions that will assist your job search and explore future employment opportunities in a wide range of fields. An annual Teacher Fair provides graduating teachers the opportunity to interview with school districts from around the state. In addition, Lamar students are invited to attend off-campus job fairs sponsored by the Houston Area Consortium of Career Centers.
