What LU can offer

Online Students

Online Students

A Lamar University education is possible even for students who are unable to make regular trips to campus. Students can choose from a variety of courses offered through online/distance education, including the complete core curriculum and upper-level classes from almost every department. Several undergraduate and graduate degrees may be completed entirely through online/distance education.

Just like on-campus students, prospective online/distance education students must first apply for admission through the Texas statewide application system. For more information on admissions, refer to the section of this page that best describes your status (such as transfer student, returning student or graduate student) or go to the Admissions page.

Current teachers can earn a master's degree in education in just 18 months through the Lamar University Academic Partnerships program.

The university's Center for Distance Education coordinates five bachelor's degree completion programs available online and online master's degree programs in two health-related fields. More information on these degree programs and course schedules are available at the center's Web page or by calling (409) 880-1847.
